Beaches
Apsara is only 5km (10-minute drive) away from beautiful Gemile Beach. While sunbathing on the sandy beach, one can enjoy the views of St. Nicholas Island and the surrounding peninsula. It’s also possible to take a boat to the Island and visit the ruins that are believed to be St. Nicholas’ (Santa Claus) initial site of burial. Public transportation option is available to reach Gemile.
Blue Lagoon (Oludeniz beach), which is regarded as one of the best beaches in Europe is 10km (20-minute drive) away. One can also take public transport to Blue Lagoon. Furthermore, Soguk Su Beach is another very close possibility, where you can reach after 15-minute drive and then 10-minute walk. Boat Tours
There are many daily boat tour options for those who enjoy sailing. Most tours start either from Fethiye or Oludeniz, and they visit beautiful spots such as Gocek, Butterfly Valley, Aquarium Bay and Tersane Island. The actual itinerary differs from each tour company and the point of departure. Boats stop for 1-hour in key spots, allowing you to take a swim and explore. We definitely recommend the 12-Islands Boat tour, which is one of the most popular. It is also possible to rent a boat right from Gemile Island (10-minute drive away) where you can create a custom itinerary and stop where ever you like, as long as you like!
Paragliding
Oludeniz (10km from Apsara) is one of the top 5 Paragliding destinations in the World. What makes this destination special is the relatively less risky nature of the weather dynamics here, while still allowing amazing views. During the afternoons, one can see dozens of paragliders in the sky. This activity should be in any adventurers bucket list. It’s quite affordable, and also there is no training required since you take-off together with a professional instructor.
Hiking / Trekking
Trekking possibilities around Apsara is virtually limitless. Afkule Monastery is 4km away, and hiking there to catch a breathtaking sunset over the Mediterranean is a must do activity during your stay. Those who are really into trekking should try walking at least some parts of the Lycian Way, which is regarded as one of the top-10 trekking trails in the World. This 540km way marked foot path starts from Oludeniz (10km away) and offers unique a combination of Mediterranean views, mountainous hinterland and ancient ruins.
Turkish Tourism Hotspots
There are many popular tourism attractions nearby Apsara. Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an ancient Greek city which constitute a highlight for most tourists. Pamukkale (Hierapolis) is yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site, an unreal landscape, made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins. Usually Ephesus and Pamukkale can be visited together over a 2-day excursion (1-night stay).
There is also possibilities of daily excursions, such as Saklikent National Park. This is an 18km long, 300m deep canyon, constituting one of the deepest canyons in the World. Another daily excursion possibility is Dalyan / Iztuzu beach (famous as a Caretta-Caretta breeding ground) and its mud baths.
Rhodes
Right across the shores of Fethiye, lies beautiful Greek Island Rhodes. There are numerous daily ferries that makes it possible to travel there within only 90minutes. Island offers beautiful beaches that attract lazy moments in the sun, unique monuments from medieval times and not least, a hectic night life. You can make this a daily excursion during your stay at Apsara, or stay overnight and come back the next day. An alternate possibility is to go there after your stay in Apsara, and make some Island hopping in Greece, since Rhodes offers convenient ferry connections to many other Greek Islands, including wondrous Santorini.
Nature Sports
If you’re a nature lover and you also have the adventurous spirit, there are many exciting possibilities around Apsara. We are close to many great Scuba Diving sites, and can offer you daily or multi-day scuba diving excursions with the possibility of getting a diving license.
Another offering for thrill seekers is jeep safari, or quad-bike safari. These tours combine off road drive, nature, history and fun plus sun tan 🙂 Depending on the tour of your choice, you can visit many great spots such as Saklikent, Yakapark and Dalyan Mud Baths.
Other options for the nature lover include horse riding, bike rental or cycling tours, as well as rafting in the Dalaman River.
